PJs with a Purpose
World Cancer Day is coming up on February 4, and Brockton will once again be participating in Team Finn’s Pjs for a Purpose. PJs for a Purpose raises funds and awareness for children with cancer. On Friday, February 3rd, students and staff are encouraged to bring a minimum donation of $2 and wear their coziest PJs to school!
“PJs with a Purpose is a fun, educational, FINNspirational event to provide school kids and opportunity to help sick kids in treatment.”
How are the funds raised helping kids?
In 2014 Team Finn met with doctors and researchers to discuss how money raised from PJs with a Purpose events can be used to create, develop and purchase virtual reality technology that will calm and distract children going through particularly difficult cancer treatments. A pilot project was launched in 2015 and the money raised by schools in 2015, 2016 and 2017 has been (and will be) earmarked to implement the virtual reality program.
