Grade 11 and 12 visit Playland!

Have you ever wondered how fast a roller coaster goes?  Ask a Physics 11 student!
Have you ever wondered why you don't fall out when a roller coaster goes upside down?  Ask a Physics 12 student!
Have you ever wondered why your heart rate increases and your palms get cold and clamy while waiting in line?  Ask a Biology 12 student!
Have you ever wondered which fair-ground foods are the highest in starch?  Ask a Chemistry 12 student!

Grade 11 and 12 students were blessed with sunshine as they visited Playland for the 30th anniversary of Amusement Park Science - an event inspired by NASA and the University of Houston. Physics Students were challenged to make measurements and predictions of top speed, maximum force and energy transformations, chemistry students studied starch content of fair-ground delicacies, and biology students studied the effects of adrenaline (epinephrine) and the vestibular system.
