Outdoor Adventure: Focus Grade 8 Camp

Several of our students ventured into the wild recently. Among them, the Grade 8's went to Rolling Earth Camp to learn about sustainable living, as well as how to use photography to communicate about it. Students (and staff) ate amazing home cooked meals with fresh produce and herbs from the gardens, and even helped make fresh apple juice using a big apple press! Students did some planting of our own, and learned about the healing properties of many plants we call "weeds".

A highlight was the feeding of the camp chickens and the learning of the process of reusing and composting food scraps for the chicken feed and for the gardens.

Much of the adventure was captured through photography. The photography lessons were amazing and students were able to use photos to effectively  communicate what sustainability meant to each of them.
