Cypress Singers / Brockton Choir

Cypress Singers (aka Brockton Community Choir) has now begun rehearsals on Wednesday evenings in the music room. There is a mixture of levels ranging from basic to very experienced and participants include Brockton parents and teachers. They are sounding great!
Is it too late to get involved?
No, there are new people scheduled to start throughout November. Just email Monique Creber ( to let her know you are interested and when you are available to begin.
Even if your schedule doesn’t allow starting right away, you can have immediate access to the rehearsal materials, allowing you to get familiar with the music before it’s time to jump in.
Do I have to audition?
There is no audition but if you desire, you can meet with Monique to evaluate your skill level, determine your singing range, test your harmony singing abilities, etc.
What type of music does the choir sing?
A big variety but we are focusing on Christmas/seasonal material at this time, including beautiful pop arrangements by Pentatonix and selections from the very traditional Handel’s Messiah.
Are there performances?
Yes, though participation is optional. The next confirmed performance opportunity is to sing with Lion’s Gate Sinfonia (a symphony orchestra under the direction of Clyde Mitchell that features Brockton’s Mr. Dyck on violin) at their Christmas concert on Sat, Dec 16th at Centennial Theatre in North Vancouver.
Is there a fee?
Participation is free of charge to Brockton parents, staff and student alumni.

Wednesday evenings until mid-December
6:30 - 8:00 pm  Basic (limited experience/basic or beginner skill level)
7:30 - 9:00 pm  Advanced (experienced participants who can already sing harmony, have good pitch and follow sheet music)
