An independent co-ed IB school (JK to Grade 12) in North Vancouver, Canada
November 5th 2020

The Junior Leadership team did an amazing job of presenting the Remembrance Day Assembly on Wednesday, November 4th. In the month of November, the IB Learner Attribute of focus is “THINKER” and amongst other considerations, our community is encouraged to THINK about the sacrifices that have been made for us and the future that might exist for all.

Wednesday's presentation included actions that we can take on November 11th, Remembrance Day. Some actions include: wearing a poppy and donating to the Legion; listening to stories of those who have been impacted by war; writing letters to veterans; or creating art, poems, and music to show our respect for those who went to war: all in an effort to create a more peaceful world. Brockton students reflected on what peace means to them, Ms. Dadashzadeh shared her story of living through the Iran-Iraq war, the Grade 3 class sang Light a Candle for Peace using sign language accompanied by their artwork, and Ms Sing recorded The Last Post and the Reveille.
