An independent co-ed IB school (JK to Grade 12) in North Vancouver, Canada
January 23rd 2021

We are  extremely excited to announce that Brockton School has recently  been authorized by the International Baccalaureate to offer the Career-related Programme (IBCP).

This is a significant step in Brockton's growth and places Brockton as one of only 40 schools worldwide that are true continuum schools authorized to offer IB programmes in all 4 of the categories (PYP, MYP, DP, and CP). Brockton will be the first school in BC to launch this program, starting in September 2021.

The Career-related Programme invites students to undertake a minimum of two IB Diploma Programme (DP) courses (potentially transferable to post-secondary credit), a core consisting of four components, and a career-related study. For CP students, DP courses provide the theoretical underpinning and academic rigour of the programme; the career-related study further supports the programme’s academic strength and provides practical, real-world approaches to learning; and the CP core helps them to develop skills and competencies required for lifelong learning. The CP supports Brockton School to partner with local industry and provides opportunities for students to explore the multitude of possibilities for post-secondary and career-related paths. The CP is among other things an innovative and forward thinking programme that will prepare our students for the unique opportunities within our dynamic world.
Congratulations to our IBCP team of staff and faculty that worked so hard to ensure that Brockton could meet this impressive milestone! We are excited about the prospect of being able to offer a fourth pathway to graduation at Brockton.
