Congratulations Sam!
Sam joined Brockton in Grade 10, and we are glad that she did! Teachers describe Sam as mature, focused, and extremely goal-oriented. Sam has a passion for music, and has showcased her talent at various World Music Programme events. Last year, she was a risk-taker by performing a guitar duet at the WMP Centennial performance, and went on to record a music video. She has been a member of the @worldmusicprogram Senior Specialized Ensemble (SSE) since her arrival, and has showcased her leadership skills when working alongside younger students.
Sam has served as the Director of Communications for the Community Action Team for Health and Wellbeing (CAT-HW), a role in which she helped run initiatives such as Mental Health Week, PJs With a Purpose, and Kindness and Inclusion day. Sam has also found success in Brockton athletics, and is a member of the Track & Field team, finishing amongst the top NSSSAA Grade 8-10 athletes. Sam says that Brockton has inspired her to pursue what makes her happy, instead of what she thinks is expected of her.
Next year, Sam plans to attend BCIT in the Trades Discovery for Women program to find which trade she wants to specialize in. Congratulations Sam, we are so proud of your accomplishments and look forward to seeing what’s next for you!
