Brockton School is a nondenominational coeducational Junior Kindergarten to Grade 12, independent school, located in North Vancouver, British Columbia. As an IB World School, Brockton offers the Primary Years, Middle Years, Diploma, and recently the Career-Related Programme (making it one of only 40 schools in the world with such distinction).

 Physical and Health Education, Intermediate - FULL TIME
 
Brockton School is currently seeking a Physical and Health Education (PHE) teacher. The teacher will work collaboratively with members of the PHE Department. The successful applicant will teach a variety of PHE courses (Grade 1 - 10) and with other members of Faculty/Staff. As a member of the teaching team, the PHE teacher will report to the Divisional Directors.

Learning Resource Teacher - FULL TIME

  
Brockton School is currently seeking a Learning Resource teacher. This teacher will play an important role in supporting the diverse needs of Brockton students, while working collaboratively with parents, teachers, school administration, and external agencies. The teacher will be a member of the Student Services team in support of students with additional learning, social, and/or emotional needs. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: supporting students in the classroom setting; developing, implementing, updating, and monitoring student Individual Education Plans (IEPs); and teaching small group lessons. As a member of the Student Services Team, the Learning Resource teacher will report to the Associate Director of Student Services.
 
Qualifications/Requirements:
  • BC Teacher Certification (Teachers Regulation Branch) or alternative as supported by the BC Teachers Regulation Branch
  • Diploma in Special Education or a Master’s Degree in Special Education
  • 3+ years experience in working with students with diverse needs
 
Ideal characteristics:
  • Level B testing qualifications
  • Experience and expertise in reading and interpreting psychological-educational reports 
  • Experience and expertise in developing, updating, and implementing student IEPs
  • Knowledge and experience with the Orton-Gillingham (OG) approach
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively
  • Flexible and innovative approaches to problem-solving
  • Highly organized with attention to detail
  • Strong time-management skills

The teacher will work collaboratively with a teaching partner, with members of the JK-Grade 5 team, and with other members of Faculty/Staff. As a member of the teaching team, this teacher will report to the Divisional Director and to the PYP Coordinator.
