October 29th 2021

Another fantastic week of athletics at Brockton as the Senior Volleyball team secured a top 3 finish in the NSSSAA league ahead of next week’s finals, as well as competing against some of the best teams in BC in a one-off tournament at Capilano University. We also had cross-country, more volleyball, soccer, and the debut outing for the Brockton Bus!

Grade 4/5 Soccer and the Brockton Bus Maiden Voyage:

On Wednesday, Junior School Director, Mr. Allester drove the Brockton Bus for the first time, taking two soccer teams to Mulgrave to play their league matches. The Grizzlies fought hard, and continued to develop their soccer skills.

Junior Volleyball:
On Tuesday, Brockton hosted Mulgrave for the Grade 4/5 volleyball league, and they continued to impress with their excellent gameplay and teamwork. Their coaches are blown away with the team's improvement, and congratulate the athletes on an incredible season.

On Thursday, Brockton hosted St. John’s School for the Grade 6/7 team's last league game. Despite the loss, the Grizzlies played their best volleyball yet. Ms. Deacon and Ms. Bongard are proud of the team and the incredible season they had!
Senior Cross Country:

Indra, Cole, and Miles ran at the Big Zone meet to finish a fantastic season and attempt to qualify for provincials. With some new rulings, we are awaiting the official qualification places and wanted to congratulate all of our runners this season on their fantastic efforts!

Senior Volleyball:

This past week, the team competed in 12 matches, winning 3 of 4 of the NSSSAA matches, and finishing 19th of 24 in the Argyle-Cap U tournament amongst some of the strongest teams across BC.

On Monday, October 25, the GVISSA league ended with our final double header that included a loss to Vancouver College and a first-ever win against St. George’s.
