Brockton School is currently seeking a Senior School Mathematics and Computer Science Teacher. As part of the Senior School Faculty, Math Department, and ADST Department, this individual will report to the Senior School Principal and will work with colleagues including but not limited to Department Chairs, IB Coordinators, and other key members of staff.
Qualifications:
❏ BC Teacher Certification (Teachers Regulation Branch) in the form of a Certificate of Qualification (CoQ) or Independent School Teaching Certificate (ISTC)
❏ Interest in being part of a dynamic and visionary IB school community
❏ Post-secondary degree in mathematics and/or computer science
Ideal characteristics:
❏ Experience in teaching (or proven ability to teach) Mathematics 8-10, Pre-Calculus 11 and Pre-calculus 12, Computer Science 11/12

French and Social Studies Teacher – Middle School – Part Time (0.8 FTE) – 2024-25 School Year
Brockton School is seeking a part-time Middle School French and Social Studies teacher. The teacher will work collaboratively with members of the MYP team, the Grade 6-7 POD team, the Languages Department Chair, the Humanities Department Chair, and with other members of Faculty/Staff. As a member of the teaching team, this teacher will report to the Divisional Directors and collaborate closely with the MYP Coordinator.
French courses will be at the Grades 6-8 level. Social Studies courses may be Individuals & Societies 8-10.
Requirements:
- BC Teacher Certification (Teachers Regulation Branch) or alternative as supported by the BC Teachers Regulation Branch
- Interest in being part of a dynamic and visionary IB school community.
- Post-secondary degree in an area of Languages with specific experience in French.
- Legal standing to work in Canada
Ideal characteristics:
- Experience in teaching (or demonstrated ability to teach) IB MYP Individuals & Societies 8-10.
- Experience teaching IB History SL/HL, BC Genocide Studies 12, 20th Century History or any senior level course in Social Studies is an asset.
- Experience in bringing a diversity of voices and worldviews to classroom material and learning experiences, including Indigenous, local, and global perspectives.
- Willingness to collaborate with colleagues to build Unit plans
- Experience with teaching French through the communicative approach
- Experience with teaching FSL at the middle school level
- Native-like command of the French language
- 3-5 years of successful experience teaching French to non-French speaking elementary age students
