Congratulations, Khalil!
Brockton has been lucky to have Khalil as a member of the community since his first day of Kindergarten. One of his earliest memories was a class trip to the Maplewood Farm, where he was able to see and interact with the animals. Khalil believes that Brockton has inspired him to be an inquirer and a critical, creative thinker. He is thankful for all of his teachers over the years. He is especially grateful for Ms. MacRae’s ability to pull him out of his comfort zone as a shy Grade 6 student, and believes she had a great impact on him becoming more social and expanding his friendship group.
Khalil has been a member of the Community Action Team for Environmental Responsibility (CAT-ER) for many years, and is the current Co-Chair, leading his peers to make an impact through their voice and action. If he could give the younger students one piece of advice, it would be to engage in as many community events as possible and take the opportunity to build friendships with new students. He believes that no one should be alone or left out, since at Brockton, “we are one big happy family.”
Next year, Khalil plans to study Computer Science. Moreover, he aims to specialize in Cybersecurity. His hope is to transform the digital world into a safe haven for everyone, so that no one has to worry about any online threats. Brockton wishes you all the best, Khalil!
